Prayer is not foolish.

Prayer is a very needful in a Christians life.  Jesus' Disciples asked him to teach them how to pray (see Mt. 6 and Luke 12).  Even Jesus himself (the Creator of all the universe) prayed (see Mark 1:35; 6:46,47; Lk. 5:15,16; 9:18; 22:41,42; John 17).

Luke 6:12 - "And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God."  In this verse, Jesus prayed all night long.  If Jesus prayed all night long, then what ought we to do?  We are to follow his example (see 1 Peter 2:21; Ep. 5:1; 1 Jn. 2:6).  Also when Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gaethsemane, his sweet became as blood (see Luke 22:42-44).  He also told the discisple, "Pray that ye enter not inot tempatation" (Luke 22:40b).

1 Thessalonians 5:17 - "Pray without ceasing."
